George Strait turned the Kennedy Center Honors into a family milestone when his grandson Harvey joined him on stage — surprising guests and bringing the room to its feet. After being introduced as an honoree, Strait smiled, motioned to Harvey, and whispered, “Come sing it with me.” ❌ Together, the two performed “God and Country Music,” with Harvey singing the opening lines in a soft, steady voice that made the entire audience fall silent. Then, in a moment no one saw coming, Strait transitioned into “Troubadour,” letting Harvey finish the final chorus beside him. By the time the last note faded, the crowd was already standing — some cheering, some wiping tears — as George pulled his grandson close and said with a proud smile: “That’s country. And that’s family.”.. FULL VIDEO HERE: https: // -him-for-rare-public-appearance-at-kennedy-center-honors- and-his-grandson-stuns-the-crowd-with-an-unexpected-duet/

The President recognized George first. When “The King of Country” removed his hat to have the medallion placed around his neck, President Trump remarked, “Oh, he’s got good hair.” George responded, “A little bit. I’ve still got a little bit.”

George and the other Kennedy Center Honorees were recognized during a ceremony held on Sunday (December 7). This ceremony was filmed for a TV special that will air on CBS on December 23.

The event, hosted by President Trump, was filled with tributes to the honorees. Fans can expect to see several musical tributes to George when the TV program airs.

George’s family, including his two grandkids, got the chance to see those tributes in person. Photos from the event show George on the red carpet with his wife, Norma, their son, Bubba, daughter-in-law, Tamara, and grandchildren, Harvey and Jilliann.

Harvey (age 13) and Jilliann (age 9) are rarely seen in public. Because of that, fans who saw them at the Kennedy Center Honors were stunned to see how grown-up they both look!
